Long haul truck driver

Overview Position: Long haul truck driver No. of positions: 2 Full time, permanent 40-50 hours per week Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: Experience an asset On the road job Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee. Responsibilities: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Load and unload goods Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Experience and specialization - Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading Driver logbook Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated Tractor-trailer Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul National Additional information - Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail Handling heavy loads Large workload Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Sitting Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs) Personal suitability: Flexibility Judgement Organized Reliability Team player Hardworking Benefits: Other benefits
